The Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the largest experiment in the world, began operating last year and will be the main protagonist of physics over the next ten years. The main goal of LHC is to discover the true mechanism generating the masses of fundamental particles. In this talk I will comment briefly what are the known fundamental particles and interactions and what are the most important questions that remain unresolved. Then describe how the LHC and show why he hopes to resolve these questions and to discover new physics in this experiment.
